Yes, the correct spelling is the way you guess it. "Kem" is a Persian word meaning "kötü" and "Elemtere" (the correct way is "Elemtera" ) is the first word of the 105th prayer in Kur'an but I've no idea as to why it's used in such a context anyhow, I assume you can guess what "kem gözlere şiş" means, lol....

Sort of - here's what it says for Elemtere fiş, Kem gözlere şiş:

That's not really an explanation - it just says when it's used. I still don't totally understand it. I know fiÅŸ as an electrical plug, and ÅŸiÅŸ is a skewer, as in ÅŸiÅŸ kebap, so does it means something like - if you put in am elemtera, the evil eye will be skewered?

Yes "fiÅŸ" is an electrical plug but this is an old saying from the old days when there were not electricity so I think it must be connected with some words in the prayer. Maybe the bold words below were altered in spoken language.

The 105th prayer (Fil suresi) begins this way: "Elemtera keyfe feale rabbüke bieshabil fil". Nonethless, I have no idea why this verse of the prayer has been associated with this saying. maybe they did it to make it sound rhymed.

So you maybe right about "if you put/read an Elemtera, the evil eye will be skewered".
