Title
Det var en gång ett vk.
Text
Submitted by pias

Title
Once upon a time there was a vk.
Translation
English

Translated by Mats Fondelius
Target language: English

Once upon a time there was a vk; a vk just about like any other vk. Designed and printed. He had dreams just like the other vk's. His mother who was a very wise vk once said: never stop dreaming, as long as the dream exists so is the possibility. She disappeared one day... to where vk doesn’t know. Sometimes he thought about her ... the days when the dust and boredom made it almost impossible to keep dreams alive in Peterson's bookshop. It was not that he did not like it at Peterson's, he did... like being among all his shelf-friends, all with different designs, but he just knew that he had a mission that he was born for something else.

Then the day came...and vk flew! He flew with a message on his back, high over continents and oceans...and he smiled...this was his dream--the beginning of it. So...why not make a vk happy? Write on its back and let vk fly, so that it, in its turn, might awaken dreams for the addressee.
Remarks about the translation
I prefer NOT to exchange the vk to pc for obvious reasons. I do not exchange vk to postcard since the suspense built up in the Swedish original rext would get lost in the first sentence by revealing to the reader what vk actually stands for. Any misspellings are due to that I had a dream while translating this little wonderful story..! :-) Mats Fondelius "figge2001"

OK. It is pretty good BUT go over it again. There are a few TYPOS and spelling proplems as well as grammer mistakes. I want you to go over this again, give it your best EDIT and I will look it over. This mistakes are fairly simple and I am sure if you take some more time you will be able to EDIT them.

Best,

David

She disappeared one day... to where vk didn't know.

I think that "postcard" has to be hidden, indeed, to keep the mistery, however the initials in the English version, in order to make sense must be pc.

Great job figge!
