By recreating themselves, artists transcend their time and place and now Salim has endeavored to overlook the life in his hometown, Tehran, by composing his 6th album, namoWoman. An instrumental avant-prog and prog metal album, namoWoman hires microtonal Persian music influences while introducing a newly constructed language (conlang) named "l3abEl" (pronounced Babel) in which the album’s booklet is written.
Salim is a man of extremities while always seeking reconciliation and harmonization among the most remotely contradictory elements. So developing as a rock/metal artist in a rock alien environment in his hometown or expressing himself by personalized mediums like a conlang of his own, all come natural to his lifestyle. In his 2012 album, Salim has hired an expressionist microtonal approach toward art rock/metal that he describes himself as "empty spaces filled with occasional wild electric guitars and expressive melodies while having oriental dance elements undercover".
About the concepts behind namoWoman composition, Salim says "I have always found the assumption of impossibility an important trick against my mind – a human mind that usually prefers patterned and inductional methods of cognition." Salim adds: "As an artist, creating and experimenting with yet unexplored mental realms has always fascinated me and in order to trick my mind into pushing toward new possibilities, I like experimenting around fundamental concepts like human sexuality. Ideas like considering human sexuality beyond its dualistic nature let me to enter a new mindset and fascinations about worlds of non-Carbon based life, gradually fed my creativity for namoWoman. Maybe I can say this mindset forced my mind to respond on vital levels and challenge its own existence…"
The album cover features Carvaggio’s painting of Medusa, which according to Sigmund Freud is "the supreme talisman who provides the image of castration". Salim says: "namoWoman cover design is a symbolic representation as if the way of transforming dualistic conceptuality passes through castrating one’s sexual identity and reconstructing it anew. All songs in this album appear as perspectives of such creative realms".
Here, Persian music quarter tones are coming in between western music intervals – as Salim has outlined in a music theory article on his website, "Persian Modes: Reading Between the Lines of Western Music". While quarter tones harmonize namoWoman album’s musical language, the l3abEl conlang accompanying its booklet tries to establish the harmony in realm of words.

Door zichzelf opnieuw uit te vinden overstijgen artiesten hun tijd en plaats. Salim heeft door het componeren van zijn zesde album,"namoWoman" getracht het leven in zijn thuisstad Teheran te overstijgen. Als instrumentale avant-garde progressieve rock en progressief metal album, maakt namoWoman gebruik van invloeden van microtonale Perzische muziek en wordt een nieuwe samengestelde taal geïntroduceerd, genaamd "l3abEl" (spreek uit: "Babel"), waarin het boekje van het album is geschreven.
Salim is een man van uitersten die altijd verzoening en harmonisatie tracht te vinden tussen de meest tegenstrijdige elementen. Zich ontwikkelen als een artiest van rock- en metalmuziek in een omgeving die totaal vreemd is van rockmuziek, of hoe hij zich uit in gepersonaliseerde media zoals zijn eigen samengestelde taal, komt dus allemaal automatisch bij zijn levensstijl. In zijn album uit 2012 heeft Salim een expressionistische microtonale aanpak gebruikt richting het artistieke rock/metal dat hij beschrijft als "lege ruimtes gevuld met nu en dan razende elektrische gitaren en expressieve melodieën met oosterse danselementen daaronder."
Over de concepten achter de compositie namoWoman zegt Salim: "Ik heb de mogelijkheid van het onmogelijke altijd een belangrijke manier gevonden om mijn gedachten, waarin vaak een voorkeur bestaat voor patronen en inductieve methoden van cognitie, te verruimen". "Als artiest ben ik altijd gefascineerd geweest door experimenteren met en het creëren van onverkende psychische gebieden. Om nieuwe mogelijkheden te creëren met mijn verstand, experimenteer ik graag met fundamentele concepten zoals menselijke seksualiteit. Ideeën zoals het overwegen van de menselijke seksualiteit buiten haar dualistische aard voerden me naar nieuwe denkwijzen. Fascinaties over werelden zonder koolstof hebben geleidelijk aan mijn creativiteit gevoed in het tot stand brengen van namoWoman. Misschien kan ik wel zeggen dat deze manier van denken me dwong om antwoorden te vinden op essentiële niveaus, en zo haar eigen bestaan uitdaagde."
Op de cover van het album staat Medusa, een schilderij van Carvaggio. Volgens Sigmund Freud is dit "de ultieme talisman die het beeld van castratie weergeeft". Salim zegt hierover: "Het design van de cover van namoWoman is een symbolische afbeelding, alsof de manier van het transformeren van dualistische realiteit verder gaat dan het castreren van iemands seksuele identiteit en het gereconstrueerd wordt tot iets nieuws. Alle songs in dit album worden weergegeven als perspectieven van dergelijke creatieve sferen."
Hier verschijnen Perzische kwarttonen tussen intervallen van westerse muziek. In een artikel over muziektheorie op zijn website beschreef Salim dit. Terwijl kwarttonen de muzikale taal van het album harmoniseren, probeert de samengestelde taal "l3abEl" samen met het bijhorende boekje harmonie te vestigen in het rijk van woorden.

- Michaeld, I don't think 'recreate' can be translated as 'recreëren'- that sounds too much like the type of recreation in your free time - going for picnicks etc. I think the idea here is more 're-inventing themselves'; is that correct, Salim?
- I think the second paragraph contains a misinterpretation (it is a rather complicated sentence! "I have always found the assumption of impossibility, an important trick against my mind – a human mind that usually prefers patterned and inductional methods of cognition." - I think this means "I have always regarded that thinking of something as an impossibility is some sort of trick which limits/partially closes my mind, which is a human mind that etc." Please correct me if this is not what you meant, Salim! If it is, I would suggest the following translation, Michaeld - please let me know if you agree, or what you would suggest, so that I can edit:
"Ik heb de aanname van onmogelijkheid altijd beschouwd als een manier waarop mijn gedachten om de tuin worden geleid - gedachten die meeestal enz."

2. impossibility: I am not saying that thinking of impossibility limits my mind. Exactly the opposite. I am saying normal mind likes patterned methods but thinking of impossibility is a trick that opens the mind toward unexplored realms or pushes its limits back.
3. challenge: You are totally right! The 2nd is right. Because the mindset makes the mind to stop its existence!

About the impossibility part, my interpretation was that being able to think of the impossibility plays an important role in his mind. That thought was reflected in my translation. So I personally do not think that "...waarop mijn gedachten om de tuin worden geleid" would be entirely correct because this sentence has a quite negative connotation, while I do believe it was meant to be something positive.
About the recreation part, you are completely right. I would indeed never say "recreëren" meaning "creating something again" in Dutch, but only in the sense of relaxing. I guess I went through that part too fast, thanks for spotting it.
I'm sorry about the late reaction.
