I suggest one or two edits to fluidify the English:
" If life mustcontinue... ... the golden calf hasto end..."
The rest seems ok but as I don't speak any Danish, I've opened a poll.

Anita is right, it should read "as we know it"
"or else" seems totally appropriate here as I consider it as a synonym of "otherwise"
I don't know what "of else" could mean here, it is not a structure I have often come across.
Bamsa - I will do a few edits and we'll see if it looks right, then I'll be able to validate.

I would suggest:
"If life shall continue" or "If life is to go on" | | |
