| | Hi merdogan,
Apparently these two sentences are not related.
What do you mean by: "How is atmosphere there?"
"What's the weather like, there?" ? |

| | I know that but I think as follows ;
Thema is about racialism in the first line.He/she wants to say "you say I am a racialist. But you are also , how is your atmosphere?"

| | Hi
The first part of the sentence [You have accused me of racialism lately] is OK. Second sentence literally means "What's the weather like, there?". But -as far as I understood- what is figuratively meant here is "You have accused me of racialism lately. Well, how about you?". Namely, "you thought that I am a racist. Look at your own situation!". |

| | Oh, I got it!
So, I think we have a proper saying in English.
"You have accused me of racialism lately. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black!"
Kafetzou, is that appropriate?

| | I don't know I think that's a cute idea, but the English expression is stronger than the Turkish one. Also, the word is "racism" in English, not "racialism".
So here's my suggestion:
"You accused me of racism recently. Isn't the shoe now on the other foot?" CC: lilian canale |

| | Thanks Kafetzou
"racialism" is the British variant of our "racism", I can't say it's wrong
OK merdogan, now you have two suggestions for the expression:
-"Talk about the pot calling the kettle black!"
-"Isn't the shoe now on the other foot?"
Your choice!

| | Yeah, I'd also use 'racism'.
Would you mind if I edit that merdogan? |

| | No, you are our expert.
I only can say thanks. |

| | Apparently "racialism" has another meaning, too - it means the belief that separate races exist! |

| | Hi dolunaysuyu,
You say line 2 is fictitious. What is your offering? |
| | 17 prosinec 2008 21:35 |
| | Kafetzou, is this good for validation now? |
| | 18 prosinec 2008 01:34 |
| | "uydurulmuÅŸ" does not mean "fictitious" here! I kind of agree with Dolunay - as I said above, the phrase you've chosen is a bit too strong for this situation. But it's close enough, so I would say you could pass it. |
