Text
Podrobit se od kafetzou
Zdrojový jazyk: Řecky

Deep sea - in your eyes ...

Deep sea - in your eyes I caress, waves of kisses,
I travel in your body, bitter sea separates us and I'm in pain and I spend another Sunday thinking of you, I look for you
Come and get me, my light, become just once mine
in the neighbourhoods of the world I'll find you again
Come and apologize to me for not feeling yet, how many nights I spend alone and how much I love you.
It's turned to night early, the stars of this Earth have been turned on, please tell me, how you can endure in someone else's arms
It's turned to night again and God has started to rain,
my sweet eyes, my heart cannot stand not having you
Poznámky k překladu
I don't understand the first line, but that's what it says.

Great translation of song lyrics, one of the hardest things to translate! The meaning of the first line is dubious at best and I couldn't have translated it better.
Anything that doesn't make much sense in English doesn't in Greek either

1. κύμα τα φιλιά is not waves of kisses
>> like a wave the(or my)kisses
2. πες μου να χαρείς doesn't mean please tell me
>> tell me and feel happy

Except this two points the translation is very good.

While there IS a chance that "κύμα τα φιλιά" might mean "like wave (are) the (or my) kisses), the "πες μου να χαρείς" means "please tell me". "Tell me and may happiness come to you" would indeed be a more accurate translation but not of its meaning . "Tell me and feel happy is, as I see it, innaccurate both as a verbatim translation and as a translation of the meaning.
Just my 2 cents

One has to be dead not to feel all those kisses covering the body like a wave...

"πες μου να χαρείς" > is quite difficult to say in another language;
Να χαρείς > para alegrarte, and here,I do not hear any "por favor".

Not easy, yes ! But this text needs perfection.

I must say I don't get the comment on the "waves of kisses" but that's probably 'cause I had to hear my parents playing biriba with their friends for the past 3 hours. My brain is slowly dying!

When you say "να χαρείς" don't you actually ask for a favour? That's how I always viewed it.

Anyway, this is a "Meaning only" translation so I guess it's only us to nitpickers who still discuss it
