I don't understand your edit in this translation.
"You are beautiful like a sun"
Could you explain in English, please?
CC: jufie20 | | | 15 October 2008 22:06 | | | Hello Liliane
This is a sentence of a simple comparison.
„Du är vacker som en sol „= you are nice (beautyful) as the sun. In Latin an article doesn’t exist. Source text: en sol a sun.
1.Pulcher, -a,-um adj. = nice,beautyful
2.es 2. Pers. Sig. = you are is an auxiliary verb
3.quemadmodum = as or like (ut, sicut )
4.sun = Apollo (he is the son of Jupiter and the symbol for the sun and the beauty.
In the latin language the predicate always is on the end of the sentence
Quemadmodum Apollo pulcher es!
or
Quemadmodum sol pulcher es!
In latin proverbes you can find too the greek name of the sol, "Phoebus". P.exemplo:
Post nubila Phoebus = after raining comes sol. .
Vale

I think that's completely different from my original translation.
I know you are still getting used to the evaluation system on Cucumis, so let me give you a piece of advice:
When you get a translation which needs just a minor edit, you may simply edit and accept.
But when you have a translation that will need so many edits you should not correct it. You'd better reject it and just explain to the translator that it was too faulty to be accepted.
You have plenty of works to evaluate, don't worry too much, OK? |
