Praise to God who knows all and who spreads His protection to all things. He, who is the ocean without shore, the stunning light. To Thou the kingdom, to Thou we show our endless and repeated exaltation. We render grace and praise to the majesty of the graciousness of Thy noble aspect, of Thy sublime name. Blessed be my Lord and bestow Thy mercy on Thy love one, on Thy chosen one. He who knows God, the incommensurable, through informed understanding, is filled with supreme joy and sees his heart blossom with well being. God provides him with a limpid understanding and bestows upon him priceless talents for love, with humanity and for benevolence, of which God, alone, has knowledge. He who has found God, what can he fail to find? And by what might he be absorbed later? |

There seem to be quite a few problems in you version
I've tagged it so as you can have a bit of time to make a few corrections to it.
"him" in talking about God needs to have a capital H.
Sometimes you shift from the third person singular to the second and back again. Is it possible to choose either one or the other? It would make the reading easier in English.
Some of your prepositions are faulty - is fulfilled of => fulfilled with.
Let me know when you've cleaned it up a little then I will set a poll.

The sentence 'Blessed you are, my lord...' is being used as a vocative case as well as in the source text. Do you thing I should change it to the the second person?
| | | 4 Август 2008 16:57 | | | As long as it is the vocative, you can leave it in the 2nd person
I'll have a look through the rest of it later and tell you any other stuff I think needs changing.

Beijos! | | | 6 Октябрь 2008 04:22 | | | the whole piece is such a challenge! but i just noted this line
وصلوات منك ربي ورØمة Ù„Øبيبك ومصطÙاك
Blessed He is, my lord, and gives His mercy to be beloved, to be the chosen one
which is not really so, its a very aesthetic form of the usual: peace be upon him, if we use the meaning only of this piece it would be much simpler... the literal translation of this line might affect the meaning dramatically, it says:
Prayers from You my Lord and mercy upon your beloved and your chosen one
which is exactly as saying: peace be upon your Prophet (your beloved and your chosen one is synonymous to your Prophet in Arabic) | | | 6 Октябрь 2008 15:40 | | | Wow! I would never know that!
Thank you Elmota! | | | 9 Октябрь 2008 00:47 | | | Oi Diego
Como vai você?
I have used the French version of this text, together with your own translation, to come up with the following suggestion:
"Praise to God who knows all and who spreads His protection to all things. He, who is the ocean without shore, the stunning light. To Thou the kingdom, to Thou we show our endless and repeated exaltation. We render grace and praise to the majesty of the graciousness of Thy noble aspect, of Thy sublime name. Blessed be my Lord and bestow your mercy you’re your love one, on your chosen one.
He who knows God, the incommensurable, through informed understanding filled with supreme joy and sees his heart blossom with well being. God provides him with a limpid understanding and bestows upon him priceless talents for love, with humanity and for benevolence, of which God, alone, has knowledge.
He who has found God, what can he fail to find? And by what might he be absorbed later?"
If you are ok with this version, copy/paste the above to edit all in one go. Then I'll evaluate

| | | 14 Октябрь 2008 15:07 | | | Hi Diego
oops I noticed I did a big typo in my previous message. The line should read "...on Thy loved person, on Thy chosen one."
The pronouns "thee", "thou", "thy", "thine" are almost exclusively used for certain religious purposes. There are some English dialects that still use them in current speech (my home dialect, the West Riding of Yorkshire dialect still uses them) which is why I am familiar with them. I'll send you a message to your inbox to explain them to you.
I'll edit then validate.
