This paper presents the simulation of an optical network of the Crossbar type, with WDM technology, using the ARENA simulation software. It also approaches optical networking concepts, such as operation and characteristics of the optical fibers and some of the main available optical devices. The simulation software used is presented in details as well as the resources used in creation of the proposed logical networking mode and its simulation.
