Ouais, j'ai peut-être l'esprit tordu, mais c'est comme ça que je l'aurais traduit. Tu t'approches sans doute plus du "native-like fluent" que moi pour cette trade.
Dis moi ce que tu en penses, notamment pour "making flush", avec mon viu dico de 1960 je peux me tromper...

Le premier reflexe de mon épouse était effectivement de confirmer le "of" plutôt que "in", mais elle me dit que "in" n'est pas une erreur.
Je pense que ce qui se passe, c'est que "made of" sera plutôt suivi de la matière alors que "made in" sera plutôt suivi du pays ( "made in Belgium" ). Cependant, une fois de plus, l'emploi de "of" n'est sans doute pas faux.
L'outil statistique google pointe une forte préférence pour "in", cependant:

"made in silk" - 676 résultats
"made of silk" - 177000 résultats

"made in wood" - 33700 résultats
"made of wood" - 1240000 résultats

oui, apparemment "of" est plus employé que "in", en français il n'y a pas tellement de différence non plus entre "en soie" et "de soie", le "en" ("in", donc), insiste peut-être plus sur la matière.
Quant à la répétition de "time", elle peut être évitée, donc, avec "duration it requires"...
Par contre, confirme moi si "making flush of" est correct employé dans ce contexte, et si mes "time-unit" et "Himalaya-like high mountain" sont usités (je les ai employés pour avoir déjà lu cela qque part, mais je ne me souviens plus dans quoi)

OK, thanks kafetzou. Could you tell if "making flush of an Himalaya-like high mountain" could be used as well in English, as an alternative to CocoT's translation?
I mean I won't change it now, but would it be understandable in English, and has it got the same meaning, knowing that mountains are made of rocks? (I've read in my old dictionary that "to make flush of "refered to stones, rocks)

I understand what you meant, Francky, but the answer is no, and here's why:

1) "making flush (with)" isn't used for mountains - it's more for an edge that you're smoothing out to meet another edge.

2) When you have two items that you are comparing in terms of an attribute, you need to say "as ... as"

3) When you have a two-part verb like "making flush", you need to put the object between the verb and the adjective anyhow, so it would be "making a mountain as high as the Himalayas flush" if it were correct to say "making flush" in this context.
