| well cica, just like u make the difference between "light" and "light" in english by context... but for non arabs it is pretty hard, just today i was reading the newspaper and the first word in the paragraph i read over and over again thinking what the ****, i decided to skip it, two more words and i go: ohhhhh! so even WE make some mistakes i cant imagine how arabs used to read arabic without DOTS 1400 years ago!
anyway, i took a course once in Italian and I hope I can go on learning it, i just love everything about italy, I am also a self-taught beginner in hebrew, its much more rewarding to learn a language with odd characters
by the way casper, the second image u posted says: the Arab American Musuem
u know what, this is so interesting im gonna blog about it next time, will include franky's name in my best typeface, upside down |

| I'll succeed to see what you look like without breaking neck of my femur one of these days
As you've got no mercy for old men |

| Done! I downloaded your pic to my hard disk, then
I returned the pic and could see you, elmota !
But I couldn't let the pic be hosted, as it isn't jpg, or another compatible suffix for hosted pics at "photomania" |

| hehe, dont i look so different? |

| You're cute, then it is less painful for my neck! |

| 17 August 2007 10:12 |
| I don't know if she'd slept better if I put a real pic from me instead! I've been inspired by Hebrew expert Ittaihen, when I saw his avatar, I told myself there might be more repulsive again than his avatar, and first time I sent him a message, he confirmed I was the most ugly of the two! |

goncinNumber of messages: 3706 | Francky, o avatar do ittaihen é realmente tosco! Sorte que ele não aparece muito por aqui.

| Desculpa, o meu português é lamentável, e temo muito efectivamente não ter compreendido que tentavas dizer-me.
Poderia reformular-me aquilo BOM francês, por favor?

goncinNumber of messages: 3706 | Francky, l'avatar d'ittaihen est vraiment dur! Nous sommes chanceux parce qu'il ne vient pas ici fréquemment.
(J'ai peur que ton portugais soit meilleur que mon français , mais est très drôle ton accent lusitain.) |

| To be honest, my bad Portuguese was certainly conceived by a Lusitanian programmer . Now, as I've got to work quickly, and not wanting to bother any Brasilian or Portuguese expert, any time I've got something to say to some Portuguese speaking member who doesn't speak English, I'm using this translation machine. Sometimes result is weird!

goncinNumber of messages: 3706 | Whe are even, Francky. I don't feel any regrets using it, because although I know a bit of French grammar, most of the times I need help with vocabulary. It's a handy tool, but do it's mistakes as well (must have a minimum knowledge of the destination language to fix them).
BTW, the Portuguese from babelfish is Brazilian flavoured

| Systran box :
I could notice a very slight difference in the texts...
UUUH , no cheat, just using tools! I wouldn't dare using it to translate on cucumis, because of the robot-sound of it! I don't know wether these networks (Reverso, Systran & co) will succeed to improve efficiency of their translating machines, in order to restitute a more accurate translation, but this is a probability... |

Francky, can you post the original of the text above? I just wonder what "palmadas" means in that context (the robots left it nonsense!). Note that "fun" remained untranslated as well. |

| Hi
My nick in arabic calligraphy is تانتيني I quite like it. My forename gives: روته
I think portuguese (european) sounds like slushy german. Sounds like people speak it with their mouth full of water. There are a lot of guttural sounds in it and lots of "sh".

CisaNumber of messages: 765 | Portuguese sounds to me like a Slavic Spanish (but I like it very much! ) The lots of sh, zh sounds make it sound very Slavic. |

| You are talking about european I guess.
Brasilian portuguese have a thousand of different accents (some of them I barely understand). |

goncinNumber of messages: 3706 | A famous Brazilian grammatician, named Pasquale Cipro Neto (it's funny his name is Italian ) said once that Portuguese from Portugal is going to be some kind of Czech, because Portuguese people supress all non-tonic vowels out of the words, as if they were formed only by consonants
You need so listen to us Brazilian speaking, Cisa - we don't do that! |

| There are usually a lot of negative opinions about Swedish. I just refer to "the Swedish cook" in the Muppet show.
Would you like to hear a Swedish language course parody on YouTube listen to this.

CisaNumber of messages: 765 | I know Goncin. I really like the Brazilian Portuguese pronunciation, you sound more ´latin´ to my ears... But I like Continental Portuguese really much as well, although I think I would have to work very much on my listening skill then... :S
I also like the sound of the Northern Germanic languages. They always remind me of the Vikings. Some years ago I was totally into them, even learnt how to read runes... |
