"Rander" should be "Randers". "Came to Iceland" should be "came to the country".

I know that "til landsins " litterally means "came to the country" however the aforementioned country is Iceland.

It seems to me that using "during" implies the present perfect continous"
but not quite sure.

"Val expects a lot from this 29 year old midfield player" instead of "this 29 yearS old CENTRAL player.

Nice translation, but this should be corrected:
Icelandic
Valur, it's a name.
Randers
and then I agree with gamine, except that "during"

Hi Bamsa and all,
Do you agree that it should read "came to the country" instead of Iceland?

As I said, Bamsa, I wasn't sure of it. Some small grammar coming from my youth(long time ago) whispered : not yet, already, since, before etc. but wasn't sure of "during". So I'm surely wrong.

Thanks, dear Ernst. It's really nice of you, but as we say in Danish "Lige ved og næsten, slår ingen mand af hesten". Don't even know how to translate this in English. Have a evening or should I say morning. Good night. I NEED my bed.

I used "arrived in the country" . I think it combines better with the tone of the text.
