This is actually a rather famous quote (most frequently attributed to Francis Bacon), usually translated into English as "Knowledge is Power", more accurately as "Knowledge itself is Power". I hope that's what you were looking for; a more literal translation of the English "power is knowledge" would be "potestas scientia est". Sounds a bit odd.
