U vleresua ose u publikua se fundi nga cucumis - 18 Qershor 2007 04:39
Mesazhi i fundit | | | | | 16 Maj 2007 05:31 | | | The meaning of the translation is perfectly correct.
However, this needs the attention of English speakers. I'm not very good with economic terms in English, me being not interested in financial news and have forgotten what I've learnt in high school.
Are there any uncommon/awkward terms used?
Is "market consumer" an acceptable term, or should we use "retail consumer"?
Instead of "changes in market customers needs for...", perhaps "changes in the demands of market customers for..." would be better?
Please give comments. Thanks. | | | 16 Maj 2007 05:43 | | | The translation says, "market customer", not "market consumer", but I agree that "retail customer" is a better translation.
There is also a typo in the cited original text: "changes in market customers needs for..."; the original translation actually says, "changes in market customer needs for...", but again, I think "retail customer" would be better here.
Thanks,
Karen Chung (original translator)

Thanks for reviewing your own work again Actually, my previous post is not directed at you, but at the rest of the community. I totally believe that you have done your best
Dear everybody,
Please comment on economic terms used. Thanks. | | | 16 Maj 2007 14:30 | | | Need and demand have different definitions, need exists first and it might lead to demand - and consuming (sometimes not). Being a foreigner to make it more clear I would put it:
changes in needs of retail customers
or changes in retail customers' needs
(the genitive seems to be missing if I am right)
However, a retail customer or a market customer does not ring a bell at all (have graduated from a university of economics and business administration and read a lot of books in english on this subject, but a long time ago).
For me it would make more sense if it would be question of consumer market and its needs, or maybe only consumer. I guess they want to make a distinction with "business to business" -trade where the customers are companies - but aren't the private people who are your customers referred to as consumers? Also the word consumer is used in other questions, too.
I don't know if my comment is useful at all, but I like discussions in order to improve my skills...
PS In nr 5 there are 3 r's in current | | | 17 Qershor 2007 15:41 | | | Why is this one listed as rejected by me? I'm sure I never saw it!
