Generating panoramic images is an important step in building a virtual panoramic space system (vps). Panoramic images can reflect the image seen by a user at a certain perspective and an arbitrary angle. Panoramic images can be generated in three ways: the first is by computer, another is to take pictures directly with a panoramic camera, and the third is to generate panoramic images based on a number of discrete images. Image fusion is the technique in which useful information from two registered images is integrated into one image and presented by the method of visualization technology. This article introduced the image fusion algorithms of gray-scale-based images, color-space conversion and transformation domain respectively.
