This is your friend's message.
If I offend my mother, my sister and whomever else or not, that's my business and I will accept no meddling.
The internet is free for everybody to say and write whatever they want.
I bothered no one.
I bothered neither you nor him.
I don't care about you or him. So I don't want to be bothered either.
הערות לגבי התרגום
In most places in the original message one should substitute "th" with "u". The key for theta on a greek keyboard is the one use for "u". I don't know why it appears like that, perhaps someone typed it in Greek, pressing "u" as if he typed in "greeklish" and the result was transcribed through some engine, whatever. The exceptions are the words "thema", "thelo" and a partial exception is the word "eleththero" which should be "eleuthero".

Hi trismegistus,

I have a doubt about that line:
"Whether I offend my mother, my sister or whomever else or not is my business and I won't negotiate"

Could you explain that in different words?

Hi lilian,
I suppose your question has to do with the "I won't negotiate" part. The original reads:
"Whether I offend... is my business and I will take/tolerate no word" i.e.
it's none of your or anyone else's business and I am not discussing it.

I hope I have explained myself. I was trying to think of some other expression, but nothing came to mind at the time. If you have something to recommend, I'd be more than glad to hear/read it. :-)

Thanks in advance.

What about this?:

"It's my business if I offend or not my mother, my sister or whomever else, thus I will accept no meddling."

I like the meddling part, I'm not so sure if the "I offend or not" sounds right though, i.e. if "or not" is properly placed there. I bear in mind of course that the alternative I've used may be somehow complicated. I'm not sure about "thus" as well, the original text is not so "sophisticated" --of course that would be true when it comes to "whomever" as well I suppose.

Believe me, everything is in the right place
If it conveys the meaning, I think you could edit it that way.

Nice, feel free to make any further "calibrations" you feel should be made then.
Thanks a lot, have a nice July!

no one?
''I dont care about you or about him'' instead of I m not interested?

Do u think hassle is the right verb instead of bother? (just because is a classic internet dispute!)

Excellent translation but I have a question: Should not we say: "I'm not interested in you NOR him?"

Hi Trismegistus,

What do you think about reggina's suggestions?

I like the "care about" idea and I'm gonna use it, thanks a lot Reggina!
I'm not sure about hassle though, because I'm not 100% sure that hassling is what he refers to in all of the cases, i.e., I think that it could be used in the ending phrase ("so I don't want to be hassled" ) but if my understanding of the verb "hassle" is correct, that is if it signifies continuous (more or less) annoyance verbally or through messages etc., I think that is not what is meant in other places. "I bothered neither you nor him", i.e. I didn't offend or harm etc. you or him. I offended my mother etc. but I did not offend you. So, keeping the other cases of "bother" I don't think I would use "hassle" in the last.

Dunya_güzel (nice name by the way ), I think that "nor" is used in conjunction with neither, as in the sentence before that. Lilian, or anyone else, if you also agree with Dunya_güzel that the aforementioned sentence witch will now read "I don't care about you or him" should have "or" changed to "nor", please let me know.

Thanks everybody!

Just noticed I can't make any more changes, Lilian could you have the "noone" changed to "no one" and the "I am not interested in you or him" to "I don't care about you or him", if you also agree with the changes? Thanx in advance!
