Maybe(?) usual is a better word for "almindeliga".
Normal seem to me more like "every young girl have eating disorders"

I quote from ordbogen.com:

almindelig adjektiv <-t, -e | -ere, -st> (95%)
(hyppigt forekommende) common - That bird is very common in this area
(ikke særegen) ordinary - He lives a very ordinary life
(ikke særegen) normal - She wished she was just a normal girl
(ganske almindelig) regular - She ordered a hamburger and regular fries to go
(ganske almindelig) standard - It is standard procedure to close the valve
(gennemsnits) average - The average student does not pass this test easily
(dagligdags) plain - She wore a plain dress
(sædvanlig) customary - It is customary to give the dealer some tips
(sædvanlig) usual - It is usual practice to pay the waiter a tip
(sædvanlig) commonplace - In his country, dying from pneumonia is commonplace
(omfattende de fleste) general - It is the general opinion that my children are cute
ikke helt almindelig » something out of the ordinary - This book is something out of the ordinary

As you can see, among them is also "normal". Besides, this is a word quite used by the Faroese people and has the same meanings.

"normal" is not a good translation of "almindelige" in this case, as it implies a normality of the disorders. The meaning is better captured by using "common".

"Normal" should be exchanged with "Frequent"

Eating disorders are not "normal", they are "common".
