Title
L'intellect de l'homme...
Translation
French

Translated by jaq84
Target language: French

L'intellect de l'homme s'écrit à la pointe de son stylo et se reconnaît à la justesse de son choix
Remarks about the translation
Can I try with that one!!
By the way, I wasn't sure whether it had to be:
L'intellect des gens est...
or else
Les intellects des gens sont...et ils sont...
In arabic we say: the intellects of people but I believe in english, french....etc...you refr to it as singular. not sure!

Hi Imene.
what you just wrote means something like:
"We recognize/know the man by the sum of his works and the excellence of his choice."
Regardless of whether what I wrote is correct or not, what you wrote is the meaning of the text but not the translation.
Lets try to put it in English for all who wonder what the arabic version says:
The inellect of people is written at the tips of their pens, and is recognized by/aparent at their good choice.

By the way in a previous version I used the following:
L'intellect des gens est écrit aux points de leurs stylos et il est apparente à leur bon choix.

To express a generality one would use "l'homme" (singular for "people", meaning "the human being"
imene's suggestion is well writen, but doesn't convey exactly the meaning, and your translation, jaq84, is closer but I'd bring some edits for it to be more correct :
"L'intellect de l'homme s'écrit à la pointe de son stylo et se reconnaît à la justesse de son choix"

tout à fait Jumana, j'ai fait la traduction du sens , premiérement parce que aanniiaa l'avait demandé , et deuxièmement pour aboutir au sens des textes typiquement littéraires et philosophiques comme celui ci , qui est un dicton de Platon (AFLATON) faut éviter au maximum la traduction littéral pour rendre le sens!

Thanx Franck, thanx Imene.
And yes of course "l'homme" just like we say in English "The man/man is" when actually we mean mankind. I was trying to stick to that people word!
Thnx again
