ตอบล่าสุด | | | | | 6 October 2008 07:49 | | | Francky, I don't think this translation is quite right. Please see my last comment under the Turkish original. CC: Francky5591 | | | 6 October 2008 10:01 | | | English version :
"The Serbian player Mateja Kezman, who has fallen out of favour with our Fenerbahçe, announced that he would come to Turkey this week to ask for a document attesting to his service to the team. The goalkeeper, because of the principal agreement he has with the French team, ..."
Hello kaf, "être remercié" also means "to be fired" (by one's employer), it is a half ironizing term that is used pretty often in French.
Use of the possessive in the French version (" sa lettre de recommandation is OK, it includes rest of the sentence and shortens this sentence (in the english version, " a document attesting to his service to the team."
But if there's anything else you see that doesn't convey the meaning in the French version, I'd be glad to edit according to what you would say.
| | | 6 October 2008 17:01 | | | It doesn't actually say he was fired in the original Turkish - it just says that they don't like him anymore (at least that's my understanding). Also, I don't think it's a letter of recommendation - I don't think they would recommend him! | | | 6 October 2008 18:40 | | | gozden çikarmak j'ai choisi a été remercié au lieu de a été sacrifié
bonservis que devrais-je utiliser à la place de lettre de recommandation? | | | 6 October 2008 22:03 | | | Kaf, they don't like him anymore >> they don't want him anymore >> this guy won't play anymore in Fenerbahce>>Fenerbahce will "sell" him to another club. If they "sell "him, they won't say he is a goat.
But they still may recommend him to another club, as they don't want to pay a lot of money monthly to this player anymore, moreover transfers from one club to another does that the club who will "buy" the guy will have to pay as much as it is possible to pay for him.
Sport is business now, one buys and one sells, the one who sells has to say he sells "good stuff"
"letter of recommendation" doesn't mean they are going to overpraise him either, but they will at least say he played in their club from [mm/dd/yyyy] to [mm/dd/yyyy] and is now free from any other contract with Fenerbahce.
To be consensual, I'd say :
"Le joueur serbe Mateja kezman, tombé en disgrâce auprès du Fenerbahce, a annoncé qu'il se rendrait en Turquie cette semaine pour demander un document attestant de son emploi par le club au sein de l'équipe."
On fait comme ça Miss? kafetzou?
