Hünkar Bektaş Veli'nin, Pir Sultan Abdal'ın, Şah İsmail'in, Seyyid Nesimi'nin ve onlarca Alevi halk önderi ve pirlerinin şiirleri neden Türkçe?

Cumhuriyet bizlere Alevi olduğumuzu açıkça söyleme hakkı tanıdı. Siyaset erbabının türlü oyunlarını 80 yıllık Cumhuriyet'e yamamak amalık olur.

Aleviler baskılara boyun eğmez yapısı gereği. Silah alıp dağa da çıkmazlar. Her türlü haklarını siyasal ve hukuksal zeminde ararlar.

Why are the poems of Hunka Bektash Veli, Pis Sultan Abdal
Translation

Target language: English

Why are the poems of Hunkar Vektash Veli, Pir Sultan Abdal, Shah Ismail, Seyyid Nesimi, and tens of leaders and masters of the Alevi people, in Turkish?

The republic has given us the right to say openly that we are Alevis. It would be blindness to attribute the tricks of political masters to the 80-year-old republic.

Alevis do not bow to oppression due to their characters. They won't take up arms and go up the hills, either. They look for all their rights in the political and legal arenas.
Remarks about the translation
I did not translate the honorifics except for "shah".

"Alevi" is sometimes spelled as "Alewite" but some scholars do not agree that they are the same.

Instead of "in the political and legal arenas" you could say "on the political and legal platform".

"legal" can be "judicial".

Hi ToprakA,

Isn't there an extra "are" in the first sentence?

Good catch! The last one should be "in". With a long sentence like that I lost track of my grammar.

Or maybe "why the poems of Hunkar Vektash Veli, Pir Sultan Abdal, Shah Ismail, Seyyid Nesimi, and tens of leaders and masters of the Alevi people are in Turkish?"
