Syvä osanottomme ja lämmin myötäelämisemme.

Kun suuri puu kaatuu, metsässä on pitkään aution näköistä.

Muistoista aika rakentaa lohdutuksen.

Rakas ystävä ei koskaan kuole.
Hän elää ajatuksissamme, sydämissämme, muistoissamme.

Rakkaamme lähtevät, jää tyhjä
tila muistojen asua.

Lämpöiset kiitokset Teille avusta tässä käännöksessä, ja rauhallista syksyn aikaa!!

Our deep condolences and with warm tidings.

When a large tree falls, the forest looks desolate for a long time.

From memories time creates comfort.

A loved friend never dies.
He lives in our thoughts, hearts, memories.

Our loved ones leave, leaving space
for memories to live.

Warm thanks to you for your help in translating this, and a peaceful fall!!

I can't really translate myötäelämisemme. Literally it's "with our lives" but it doesn't really make sense in english.

Hi itsatrap,

- Our deep condolences and with warm tidings.
- From memories time to create comfort.

These two lines are puzzling me. Could you explain them in different words, please?

Condolences is an expression of sympathy, warm tidings like good news. From memories time to create comfort, is a translation of the Finnish, it is abstract I suppose meaning there is time to take comfort from one's past memories, although obviously past is not necessary at all to say, since one cannot have memories of the future.

Those two lines seem a bit strange, indeed.
As far as I know, non-native opinion, "myötäelää" ís "to empathise" and "myötäeläminen" is fourth infinitive for this verb, so it behaves sort of like a noun, with the same meaning.
And regarding "muistoista aika rakentaa lohdutuksen" = (word for word): from memories time builds/makes consolation(confort, solace).

I don't see anything strange at all, warm tidings (warm) certainly means empathy/sympathy. Create is the same as makes and build, although to build comfort sounds strange in English. A typical expression in English is "to take comfort from memories", but I left it as a more literal translation.

I agree with you, but it's better to wait for Maribel.
No, only the third line is kind of confusing : "From memories time to create comfort". The other lines are ok, in my opinion.

The today's messages seem to carry an accurate idea. Especially Freya, empathy is what i would have suggested as an explanation (although have heard sympathy used in similar situationa).

"from memories time to create comfort"
There to create is wrong >> creates

The idea is that when time goes by your memories
will console/comfort you (in your agony/sorrow).
Even the memories that at first only tear you apart, you will, later on, find comfort in them.

"create" could be e.g. moulds/transforms/
/builds/makes etc (literally build)

Can't find a good way to say it right now, sry.
Maybe "memories are transformed by time to be your consolation" "...to console you" (the comfort is a noun in Finnish but I think it needs a verb form english). But that sounds not very fluent I am afraid.

At the end the word "space" in unnecessarily repeated, don't you think? (and in the original it is "an empty space" or a void)

I agree with Maribel regarding the "empty space"(empty space for memories to live)- "jää tyhjä tila..."
