Title
Request to cancel vehicle registration
Translation
English

Translated by Una Smith
Target language: English

The vehicle the features of which are outlined, fulfills on this date the prescriptions that pertain to travel on public roads as defined in the prevailing Code of Circulation and pertinent regulation.
Request to cancel vehicle registration.
I declare under my responsibility that the vehicle has been removed from use on public roads, for which reason I request the indicated cancellation.
Remarks about the translation
"felirado" appears to be a typographic error for "retirado": see http://www.dgt.es/tramites/listado_impresos/impresos/9.060-Castellano.pdf

Furthermore, "law" appears to be a typographic error for "las".

Hi Una

Just some nitpicking about commas, my favorite punctuation mark! I have a big sack full next to my computer!

Between:

"vehicle" and "the features"
"date" and "the presciptions"
"roads" and "as defined"
"declare" and "under"
"responsibility" and "that"

and two suggestions:

Could "...pertaining to..." replace "that which pertains to" ?

Would "...reason for which..." not be better than ...for which reason..." ?

Tantine, I agree with you about the text needing commas. However, correcting the punctuation is editing, not translating. I do not correct the punctuation except when correction is necessary to achieve the meaning of the source text.

Una,

I just saw that the source text didn't have many commas either

Maybe I should also propose some commas to anyone who wants some

Irini: there are a lot of orthographical mistakes in the source text in Spanish, mainly diacritics. Here is how I would write it:

"El vehículo cuyas características se reseñan, cumple en esta fecha las prescripciones que para circular por las vías públicas señala el vigente Código de la Circulación y reglamentación pertinente.
Solicitud de baja del vehículo.
Declaro bajo mi responsabilidad que el vehículo ha sido retirado de la circulación, por lo que solicito la baja indicada."
