When someone says "so much for (my happy ending)" what does it exactly mean?
To me, I understand it as: "more than I can take/more than I can handle for such a situation".

When someone says "so much for (something)", it means "too bad the thing I was expecting isn't coming", so "So much for my happy ending" means something like, "Oh well, I guess this means I won't have the happy outcome I was expecting."
