Numai bine,

Aneta, sorry to bother, but I don't think there are people who know Latin well enough to translate this, I will make an English bridge for you, and if you think you can translate it, because it's a part of a poem, and you know how poems are...

So, here it is, LITTERALLY:

"The centuries will carry my name from mouth to mouth". It expresses the idea of continuity, the centuries are seen as people in this poem, a name carried through the centuries. I don't know if you can translate it litterally, if it doesn't sound too awkward, in Romanian it sounds too, but it's poetic license...

Thanks a lot!

If more details are needed I can give more context.

Btw, I found a translation into English of this poem and that part was of course translated so that it rhymed with the rest, as every poem has to.

This is what I got for this part:

"If I die", he says pro sibi, "centuries may come and go,
For my name shall be remembered and to time shall ever grow."

Hehe, also some words in Latin.

This little text to be translated is part of this BIG poem. The Romanian original is first, then comes the translation into English.

Thank you, dear!
Since some poetic licence is allowed here I translated it like it was " My name will be carring by mouths of ages". I converted active voice to passive voice, because Latin simply prefers sentences expressed in passive voice.

Thank you very much, Aneta! I was a bit worried about this text, to tell the truth. Great that you managed to translate it for Maria.
