Hala yalnız mısın? Sadece özgür. Peki mutsuz?...

Nyelvröl forditàs: Török

Hâlâ yalnız mısın?
Sadece özgür.
Peki mutsuz?
Sadece alışmış
Peki ya aşık?
Sadece eksik
Peki ya sen? Hâlâ bekliyor musun?
Beklemek,şimdi hiç duymayan birine dünyanın en güzel şarkısını söylemek kadar anlamsız.
Peki ya umut?
Umut,şimdi hiç görmeyen birine gökkuşağını anlatmak kadar zor ve imkansız.
Magyaràzat a forditàshoz
Cem Adrian'ın Herkes Gider Mi isimli şarkısından.

Are you still alone?
Fordítás
Angol

Forditva Mesud2991 àltal
Forditando nyelve: Angol

Are you still alone?
Just free.
So, unhappy?
Just adapted.
Then, in love?
Just incomplete.
What about you? Are you still waiting?
Waiting, is as meaningless as singing the best song in the world to someone stone deaf.
What about hope?
Hope, is as hard and impossible as describing a rainbow to someone totally blind.

Hi Lilian,

No, my mistake.

I only speak German and English, not Turkish.
The last German sentence could be translated: "Hope is when you describe the rainbow to someone who cannot see, difficult and impossible."
well, this might be splitting hairs ...

I agree with hecmes's proposal. Sounds more fluent
though the meaning is the same.

Hello Mr. Wilde and gamine,

According to the Turkish original, it should be as it is now. This, in fact, is a part of a song performed by Cem Adrian. In it, he stops for a second when he says 'hope', then he continues. That is why there should be a comma after 'hope'. Apart from that, I don't have any idea about whether your suggestion sounds fluent, but that line literally translates as it stands above.

the verbatim of the original text says,

'..Waiting, is as meaningless as singing (now) the best song in the world to someone stone deaf...'

'..Hope, is as hard and impossible as describing (now) a rainbow to someone totally blind (/who can not see).'

Hello Mesud 2991. You are the Turkish expert not I and I voted for the Germain/ English translation. I feel it he way I told you but it doesn't mean that it's the best one. Only my opinion.
We're supposed to give our opinion so I did.
Nice to meet you - I think it's the first time we have talked together.

I agree with Figen Kirci. My understanding of the 2 long sentences also is:
"Waiting is *as meaningless as* singing..."
"Hope is *as hard and impossible as* describing..."

The English translation does not indicate the comparison of the source text: Waiting is like singing / as if you would sing the most beautiful song in the world to someone who cannot hear, so meaningless. Hope is like describing / as if you would describe the rainbow to someone who cannot see, hard and impossible.
