Yes, almost every word is really in Italian, but there's no "coerence"
"lo veggio"????
E may mean "and...", but "È" (is) too...
Ma siede nel soglio... Ma siede sulla soglia... but he sets on the threshold... ??? | | | 29 August 2007 20:44 | | | Translation is in stand-by until someone asks the requester about the source-language to edit the text. | | | 30 August 2007 04:29 | | | I hope to help you. The form is correct but it is written in archaic way.
"Lo veggio" means "I see it/him", in this case "I see him". It is an archaic form of the verb to see.
"soglio" = throne. | | | 30 August 2007 09:01 | | | Thanks Ricciodimare, so it would mean : "he's ingrateful, I see it, and he's sitting on the throne"? | | | 30 August 2007 09:55 | | | Yes! I see him and not I see it! | | | 30 August 2007 11:12 | | | Thanks Ricciodimare, I will place a bridge in English in the comments | | | 30 August 2007 14:38 | | | From Galuppi's Adriano in Siria (1760). | | | 30 August 2007 14:51 | | | Didn't succeed to find this quote at your link, pirulito, should I edit something anyway from the comments area? | | | 30 August 2007 15:02 | | | Ooops! The quote is here. | | | 30 August 2007 16:14 | | | OK, I found it, it is said by Sabina :
"È ingrato, lo veggio;
ma siede nel soglio."
Thanks for the link, and for the comments, I'll add it too in the comments area. |
