Are you waiting for Getzu to go off line??? what can I say…if you like (him)… | | I suppose “getzu†is a nickname, otherwise, even if Romanian is my mother tongue, I really don’t understand the meaning -------------------------------------------------- alternative translation (as the text is unclear) : "Are you waiting for Getzu to get out? Now, what can I say, if you like him (or it...) "
it is the best we can do with so few context and a Romanian text which is at the borderline to be removed. 03/03/francky |

Poslednja poruka | | | | | 2 April 2008 18:31 | | | Mygunes, why "Ice" (not a nickname)would go off line? What's the meaning? It must be a nickname | | | 2 April 2008 18:44 | | | Raman la parerea ca nu este un nume.
| | | 3 April 2008 21:08 | | | I propose that text to rejection, because we don't understand what is it "getzu" from source text. May be a name, may be a subjective. | | | 2 April 2008 23:42 | | | reject it, please, i'm getting sick of it. If we, romanians, don't understand it, then it's useless... | | | 3 April 2008 08:46 | | | Maybe you could just put the alternative translation (or more than one?) in the Remarks section, under the main translation itself?
Seems like a shame to have all your work (and dialogue) go to waste...? | | | 3 April 2008 10:30 | | | Actually I have to agree with what Oana said abov e "Mygunes, why "Ice" (not a nickname)would go off line? What's the meaning? It must be a nickname" at least as far as the English is concerned. Why not connect with the person who requested the translation and if it is a nickname, then the English was o.k. and it should be allowed. | | | 3 April 2008 11:00 | | | I cannot put an alternative translation because there was not written "ghetzu" (frost), but "getzu", and I have never heard the expression "sa iasa ghetul" (frost to go out) in Romanian language. I connected with the fact that it is an "on chat" conversation. Besides, the two phrases don't have any meaning connection.
To Dramati : in Romanian, it is written only "to go out", but it means both "go out" or "go off line" (we say word by word "I go out from internet ", not to say all this we reduced "I go out". that's why the girls interpreted with go out and not go off line, it has two interpretations in romanian) | | | 3 April 2008 12:12 | | | Dear, dramati
you don't understand me.
Sorry, i don't speak so good English but ı try explain.
Ä°f "getzu" is a nickname, Oana's translation is correctly, but if "getzu" is a subjective (frost-i put "Ä°ce" because i dont know what mean is English), Oana's translation is not correctly and this phrase must be maked again.
Oana ask me " why "Ice" (not a nickname)would go off line? What's the meaning? " - because first time don't understand me.
of, so, this source text it's a controversy.
| | | 3 April 2008 12:01 | | | I unerstood you from the first time, mygunes, but I didn't agree with that expression in Romanian language | | | 3 April 2008 12:06 | | | As far as I'm concerned, I'm sure that taht one is a nickname (2 persons were talking and one probably was "invisible", waiting for this Getzu to go off line, they are also many question marks there, like surprise, which I cannot connect with the "frost" or "ice" , and I also think that the second sentence is from another conversation | | | 3 April 2008 12:08 | | | I am tired because of this controversial text.
| | | 3 April 2008 13:48 | | | Or:
Are you waiting for him to get out? Now, what can I say, if you like him (or it...)
I cannot assume "getzu" is a person, I have nothing to support this theory. And why "to go off line?" It is yet another assumption. It could be right or wrong.
| | | 3 April 2008 16:28 | | | I posted the alternative translation in the comments field and accepted the translation, as a lot of time has already been spent on this "meaning only" text.
Thanks having notified the problem. |
