I am trying to do my first esperanto translation ever!
does beyond has the meaning of trans here?
And La vivon is an objectif, right?
CC: goncin | | | 17 Haziran 2008 12:07 | | | Congratulations, Nathan! It's almost right: the last part must be "Amo trans la vivo" (you'd better use the article here).
Esperanto only uses the objective termination "-n" after a preposition when the context implies motion: "Li estis en la Äardeno, kaj kuris en la domon" (He was in the garden and ran into the house).
CC: tristangun | | | 17 Haziran 2008 12:11 | | | I had la vivo first! But then I changed it!
Nooo =O
I don't get what you mean.
Because you say "la viro mordas grandan hundon" so why you put an "-n" there? | | | 17 Haziran 2008 12:17 | | | In Esperanto, unless there is a motion sense, the object either takes the "-n" termination or is introduced by a preposition. In the case of the man who bites the big dog, there isn't any preposition at all, so the "-n" termination is mandatory. Got it now? CC: tristangun | | | 17 Haziran 2008 12:19 | | | And what is a motion tense?
(sorry to bother you with all those stupid questions..)
| | | 17 Haziran 2008 12:44 | | | There is no "motion tense": is a motion sense (maybe I should write it "sense of motion" in English...). CC: tristangun | | | 17 Haziran 2008 13:24 | | | Oh, what is a "motion sense" then? =D
I don't want a translation, just an example or so. | | | 17 Haziran 2008 13:35 | | | Well... let's give it another try:
1) La kato kuras en la domo ("the cat runs in the house" - it doesn't get out the building - the action is static regarding the house).
2) La kato kuras en la domon ("the cat runs into the house" - it is outside and enters the building - there's a motion action regarding the house). |
