The candle, which is one of the oldest invitation symbols of Anatolia, used to imply, "With this candle, we wish to send you a piece of our light. For the rest, come and see us."
These gifts, called "invitations", would generally be delivered by a woman and man called the "inviters", from inside the family circle, who have maintained a happy marriage, with at least one child. Now, wedding invitations, far from romanticism and aesthetic, with only the names of the ones marrying, the wedding place and dates jotted down on a piece of paper, resemble a reminder note thrown away after the wedding date.
