namorar = to flirt / to be involved with romantically / to try to attract someone / to go out with someone romantically.

OK; I think "have a relationship with me" would be a better translation - dating is too many steps away from marriage to work in this case.

I also changed "just got" to "became". I'm not sure why "just" was in there, but it sounds a little strange in English.

P.S. "to flirt" is completely different in English - it doesn't imply a relationship at all - it just means to speak coquettishly with someone.

Thank you for all your comments. I keep on learning. About "namorar" it is supposed to be one of the hardest words to be translated accurately from Portuguese. "Saudades" is another one.

Ah yes - I had heard about saudade - but namorar is a new one for me.

BTW, Portuguese has a full range of words to describe the several levels of relationship between two people.

The most common one, if the couple is not married at all, is namorar indeed. But is perfectly possible to say that a married couple is namorando when they (finally!) can stay alone and have a romantic scene.

For "to flirt", we have flertar, which, by its turn, is derived from the English word. Paquerar, however, is more widespread.

From some time on, young people start to have quick affairs for fun. This includes from just kissing to have a sex night, but usually not more than a couple of times, and sometimes with several dates in a single night (one a time, of course - that isn't an orgy ). The verb we use to describe such a behaviour is ficar (with sb.).
