| | Hej Pia,
May I ask you a bridge for translation?
Tack så mycket CC: pias |

| | Sorry, I hadn't noticed your bridge here...
Anyway, may I ask you if the addressee is singular or plural?

| piasBroj poruka: 8113 | Not sure exactly what you mean, but it's about 'the day' (singular -definite form).
Hope it helps

| | My fault, Pia, I did not explain myself properly.
I meant to ask if this sentence is addressed to one or more people. A concrete example:
"Create (you) the day from love!" = one addressee;
"Create (you all) the day from love!" = two or more addressees.
I know English doesn't make such differences (since verbs are not inflected by person in imperative mood), but Latin does. So I can try to do a more precise translation if I know how many the addressees are.

| piasBroj poruka: 8113 | Ah, but the Swedish source doesn't tell! The only remarks we have about this request is that it is for an inscription in a ring for a wedding morning-gift. My guess is it's for two people. |

| piasBroj poruka: 8113 | Hej vipelyckan
Jag tror vi behöver din hjälp för att översättningen skall bli korrekt. |

| piasBroj poruka: 8113 | Alex... could you wait a while for the requester to reply? Since this seems important to him, it's better he gives you an answer... than me guessing.
No problem being cryptic sometimes. |

| | Ok, let's wait |

| | Hi there, sadly to say I was urged to select another inscription which I know is right.
So no rush anymore :-)
The inscription I was asking about was more like a Latin proverb, slightly changed for my purpose.
In english it might have been like this.
Create the day out of love.
My meaning is that every day should be created with love. The love will fill the day so to speak.
Maybe this will reveal my intention.
Thanks for all help anyhow. |

| | Hej Pia
Som sagt översättning är inte lika viktig längre.
Jag blev tvungen att välja något som jag visste var rätt för att hinna göra inskriptionen klar.
Men min intention var att "göra" ett latinskt ordspråk, jag tycker känslan av att göra/skapa dagen av kärlek är rätt fin. För vad vore dagen annars ?
Jag hoppas att min fråga inte ställt till för mycket huvudbry :-)

| piasBroj poruka: 8113 | Hello vipelyckan!
Ingen huvudbry
Thanks for the reply! I think we got the meaning right now... the question is (as Alex wrote above) if this sentence is addressed to one or more people? That's not important in Swedish or English, but in Latin. |
| | 13 listopad 2011 11:08 |
| | This sentence is adressed to one person.
|

| | Thank you both, Pia and vipelyckan.
Now, if vipelyckan doesn't need this translation anymore, I think he should be given his points back by deleting his request.
I'm sorry I hadn't noticed this request before.

| | Thank you Alexfatt för that, but I am born curious :-) So I really would like you to continue the work you have done.
Also thanks to Pia for all help and support.
I think that inscription I final decided for is nice to. |

| | Ok, I'll do my best.
Thanks to you and Pia again! |
