"May God give strength to endure to the family and loved ones...My condolences "
"to endure" in the sense of "bear" needs an object. I think in this case it could be "the loss"
So the sentence would read:
"May God give the family and loved ones the strength to endure the loss...My condolences "
What do you think?

well the problem is its not stated what they need to endure, loss is probably correct but luckily:-)no need to guess.
endure can be used as an intransitive(no need for object) verb as well:
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/endure | | | 17 June 2008 18:49 | | | Yes, kfeto, it can be used as an intransitive verb, but in this case it usually means "last" not "bear". | | | 17 June 2008 18:53 | | | Anyway, even using it as intransitive, the syntax has to change. Do you agree? | | | 17 June 2008 23:04 | | kfetoNumber of messages: 953 | has to? no not really.
what do you suggest? | | | 20 June 2008 02:10 | | | I suggested above:
"May God give the family and loved ones the strength to endure ...My condolences" | | | 20 June 2008 02:17 | | kfetoNumber of messages: 953 | ok... now its actually better | | | 20 June 2008 02:43 | | | Great!
I think you should correct the remarks
"no to violence" is the slogan of an anti-violence domestic campaign in Turkey. |
