the person requesting the translation from Danish is asking for a direct translation, so it shouldn´t say "to lose all or to win nothing" in Spanish (by using the infinitive form) but rather "lose all or win nothing" (my Spanish is rusty but in Portuguese it would go: "perde tudo ou não ganha nada" )

I believe the French version should be corrected as well.

actually, as far as I can see, the Spanish version that has been rejected is the correct one.....

No, Anita, even with the changes in verb tenses from infinitive into imperative, the rejected translation is still wrong.

ah, but it shouldn´t be changed to the imperative, but to the present tense!

The sentence in Danish lacks a subject, but it is indeed written in the present tense (the imperative form would be: Tab alt eller vind ingenting). That is also why I translated it to "perde tudo ou não ganha nada" in Portuguese and not "perca tudo ou não ganhe nada" :-)

Anyway, Anita, into simple present, that rejected version is still wrong.
When a version is accepted you will be able to compare.

Cisa,
let's wait until we decide what the correct verb tense should be before editing this translation of yours, OK?

Ok, I just wanted to let you know that the sentence is a little strange in Danish due to the lack of a subject (there is no way of knowing if it is, for instance, "I lose or win nothing" or "he/she loses or wins nothing" ) and due to the present tense.

in French it wouldn't make sense using present tense without subject, this is maybe why gamine used the infinitive in the French version...

Hi!
Yes, I believe there are problems with the Danish version, but still in French it sounds better with infinitives.... At least to my ears.

Anyway, just let me know how you decided with the Spanish sentences and I´ll correct mine according to that immediately!

In my rejected version I misspelled "pierde". But I don't think it is a negation. It says "win nothing", not "don't win anything". I this case I think "nada" could be written independently, without the negation. Is it not so?
I agree with Francky, that is doesn't make much sense in French and Spanish when we don't have a subject. You don't know how to decline the verb...

Hola Cisa,

La solicitud original en danés ha sido cambiada, la traducción de gamine en francés tendrá que cambiar también. Cuando esto ocurra... ¿podrías adaptar tu traducción ? Creo que la has basado en ella. Debes usar imperativo.

Perdona el inconveniente, Gracias.

Oho, is Cisa still here? I thought she was going to be away for a while.

Maybe we should edit the Spanish version as well?

This was becoming an endless soap-opera!

Problem solved! I've edited it correctly and considering that Lila F. had rejected it, I re-evaluated and accepted it with no rating. I hope Cisa won't mind.

I rejected the translation into Spanish because at first it said "Perder todo o no ganar nada", that are not the same as "Gana todo o no pierdas nada".

That was how I read it from the beginning, before it was edited. But never mind. Everything is Ok now ,I guess. The important thing isn't who made the correct translation, but that we finally come to a conclusion, in my point of wiev.
