Dear Giannis,
I am writing in order to help you with your diet. I've heard that you eat very much and you have gained weight so I recommend to you a schedule for your diet. We begin with the products you will eat. A bowl of cereals and a fruit and then you will wait for the lunch when you can eat a serving of the food your mother has made for everyone and at night you will eat a yoghurt and a fruit.
You will see that you will be in good shape soon, you won't be fat and you will thank me for this letter I sent you. I hope you'll stay that way and maintain your diet as I wrote to you.
With love from |

Please, tell me if you agree. | | | 21 March 2009 15:54 | | | | | | 21 March 2009 16:08 | | | Fine! To the poll then. | | | 21 March 2009 23:27 | | iriniNumber of messages: 849 | To begin with, the original text is "awkward" at places and that is reflected in the translation.
First sentence "your diet". Second sentence "eat a lot", "recommend to you". It also says "(some) programs for your diet" but what follows is not "some programs" so I think "a schedule" works better. Third sentence is as good a translation of the original as can be. The original says " That is we begin with the product that you'll eat a bowl...". This has to be separated in two. "Product" is as weird in Greek as in English mind you. Fourth sentence. "A bowl of cereals", "you will wait until you eat again at lunch when you can eat a plate of the food...". "You will eat a yoghurt..." Fifth sentence (well, second paragraph, I kinda got lost): "gradually" should be changed into "soon" . Last sentence (bar closing line): "I sent you and I hope you will stay so and you will maintain/continue your diet the way/as I wrote you [according to what I wrote to you].
Remember that the original is strange too. |
