Leelo6955, désolé mais j'ai dû retirer votre demande de traduction, car d'une part vous avez formulé votre demande comme étant un texte allemand, et d'autre part car nous ne traduisons pas les mots isolés, comme il est fait mention à cette page.

Ceci dit je vais m'enquérir de la signification de ce mot auprès d'un expert dans la langue de Goethe.

Hello Heidrun, please do you know the meaning from this apparently German word : "Schmorplätzli"?

Thanks a lot!

Yeah, it seems to be a meal with pork, but I really don't know it. Maybe it's Swiss or German, but definitely not Austrian. Especially in the food sector, our expressions are often very different from the German ones and vice-versa. Perhaps Italo can help us here.

I think it's a Swiss food... I asked a swiss friend but she only knew "Spätzli".

I know Spätzle too, but they are something totally different.

Yes I imagine that Spätzli are differentlly. But you are right, it is something from pork or beef.

Thanks a lot Lene, Heidrun and Salvo, for your help, I'm afraid leeloo6955 won't have this name from this Swiss or German dish translated. I wouldn't be that surprized if I was told there is actually no translation from this "spécialité"

Francky, is it really necessary to translate the word "Schmorplätzli"? It sounds like a proper name to me, which you often simply cannot translate, or at least not in a single word. I strongly doubt that you have a French equivalent of this meal and it would be way too complicated to type the whole recipe of it.

hehe! Thanks Heidrun, what you said is true anyway, who has ever prepared some "Chili con carne" would agree.
But I had a message from khaula , who is German, and she told me "Schmorplätzli" was translatable by "viande braisée", which confirms part of what Lene said.

Leeloo, ce nom désigne donc une viande braisée, êtes-vous satisfait de cette traduction possible?

Hi Francky. It's a Germain meal with roasted meat, most often prepared with porc or lamb. I have family in Nüremberg having a hotel and a restaurant too. It's just the name of the meal, as well as in France we have i.e. "bœuf carottes.

Un "morceau à/pour braiser", comme un "morceau à rotir".
C'est un terme de boucherie.
