| | i think is most correctly WHEN YOU EVALUATE THIS OBJECT WHITH "buy it now" FORMULA? |
| | 27 listopad 2009 09:27 |
| | "quanto" is not the same as "quando" (when) |
| | 27 listopad 2009 09:56 |
| | The question is :
"How do you rate..."
"con la formula", with the form. |

| | Excuse me but doesn't "quanto" means how much?
|

| | Hi Aneta B. ! Your translation is almost OK for me
Just one observation: "Quanto", should normally be translated by "How much" Only if the original text is "Come", meaning "In che modo", the word "How" is enough |

| | Thank you Ianut and Maybe! Yes indeed, should be "how much", but maybe we should change the verb in this case, because "evalute" doesn't fit to "how much" I guess?
"How much do you appreciate..."? |

| | Even in this case I would make a distinction:
1) if "quanto valuti questo oggetto... " has to be intended in the sense you wrote, it could even be ok ---> "How much do you appreciate (or estimate, or assess..." ;
2) if the same phrase asks about an evaluation, an amount, a ratio, a level of value, maybe I would translate it "How do you value (or "price" or "appraise" )..."
Anyway English experts could give a better and definite... evaluation about this subject! |

| | Hi guys, sometimes we have to "adapt" a sentence when rendering it into another language.
True that 'quanto' means 'how much', but in English 'how much' is usually used together with the verb 'to be' (how much is/was, etc).
Since here we will have to use 'value', the most natural structures for the sentence keeping the meaning would be indeed:
"How do you rate/value...."
