MYSTERIOUS
Our looks met, now and then
and we stopped in the middle of the hurried crowd
A smile sprang up from two alert hearts
which for much emotion, the promise sealed.
We greeted each other and left
in the conviction that I’d see her the next day
because meeting is usual, nowadays
as well as looking at her, cheerfully.
To make it happen like the first time,
even if her face blushes like a rose
when in a genuine folly, the reasons I explain
For wanting her in verse, but not in prose
I would tell her: I like you, and perhaps the reason
is the fascination of being so mysterious.
