Title
What are you asking about, my dear friend
Text
Submitted by samaramorad
Source language: English Translated by ghasemkiani

What are you asking about, my heart's darling?
Because I am, like my possessions, variable and unstable, sometimes tranquil, sometimes on edge.

Title
ما الذي تتسائل بشأنه، يا حبيب قلبي؟
Translation
Arabic

Translated by jaq84
Target language: Arabic

ما الذي تتسائل بشأنه، يا حبيب قلبي؟
فأنا، ككل شأني، متقلبة و غير مستقرة. أحياناً هادئة و أحياناً على الحافة.
Remarks about the translation
This is with the assumption that the speaker is female.
For male speaker use the following:
ما الذي تتسائلين بشأنه، يا حبيبة قلبي؟
فأنا، ككل شأني، متقلب و غير مستقر. أحياناً هادئ و أحياناً على الحافة.

Hello Elmota
What do you think? Shall we accept that
Do you agree for the choice of words? I found it hard to choose the right ones.
For example, my possessions, I wanted to write it as:
أوهامي
and tranquil as ساكنة
What do u think?

well the word possession here is not like "possessed" because you own your possessions, they dont possess you its not really the same, its more like كل ما أملكه
i have read the discussion on the Persian page and it really is more of "belongings" although i thought that "مال" in Persian meant "له" but it turns out it is money or belongings after all... people use that word a lot in the gulf and in iraq: السيارة مال الشركة معطلة

so yeah it would be better to say: كل ما لي or كل ما أملكه
as for tranquil, i think both work

PS isnt it weird that ما لي and مالي are identical?

well, if possessions mean belongings what would it mean that they are tranquil? or even on the edge?
what's the sense in that?
I can benifit from the similarity u mentioned ما لي and مالي .

Could it be ككل شأني though?

yes, ككل شأني sounds great, i thought: variable and unstable are for possessions, while edgy and tranquil are for myself... anyway, you better take a look at the persian page, it helps
by the way, why did u assume the speaker is a lady?
