| | I'll get in from elsewear, cause.... |
| | 2 Апрель 2008 19:13 |
| | Elsewear is that kind of clothes you wear when you are in a strange mood? |
| | 2 Апрель 2008 20:44 |
| | I am not sure, but think the meaning are different..
I do not sure what will say in Engish the man, (who has jealous wife) to his girl friend, if he would like to say, that he must change the plase from that he enter (in messinger like ICQ, Skype or any other), because his wife would kill him (if she have a look at this conversation)..
As is translated now, (in my opinion) it means that this man would like to find another way to get into some room or any other place (real place) and he is afraid of his wife, if she meet him. But..I think we have a different case..

| | No, Casper, I think elsewear is some kind complementary clothes you wear to improve your general outfit, like hats or belts or jewelry. |
| | 2 Апрель 2008 22:27 |
| | Hm, maybe it should be "enter" indeed...
What's better in your opinion: find another way to enter; to enter from elsewhere; to enter from somewhere else? I think the last one sounds best. |

| | The way it is sounds good. Just don't use elsewear, please (kidding). |

| | Hi guys!
I have a question, Via.
What do you mean with that "enter" ?
Enter into a place ( a lover looking for a safer access to his beloved ) or get in touch (by means like internet)? |
| | 5 Апрель 2008 18:31 |
| | Well, it's not clear what the speaker meant actually. There is a suggestion that he meant to enter ICQ, or something like that.
In Bulgarian one can speak about "entering" that applies to all kinds of places, occasions, etc. I thought that in English the most general word should be "enter", that can be used both for entering a room and ICQ, am I wrong? |
| | 5 Апрель 2008 19:49 |
| | Hi Via, you are right, what I was wondering is that if we assume that he is talking about the internet, we may change the last part to:
"by/through other means" instead of that controversial "from somewhere else", or:
"I'll contact you by other means..."
What do you think? |
| | 5 Апрель 2008 21:32 |
| | It's good, but what if he meant some other "entering"? |
| | 5 Апрель 2008 21:42 |
| | That would be a problem!
What about giving the option in the remarks? |
| | 5 Апрель 2008 23:17 |
| | Which one would be the main version/the option? |
| | 6 Апрель 2008 00:45 |
| | Follow your instincts, Via! |
| | 6 Апрель 2008 10:34 |
| | Lili, I've already done what my instinscts told me. You got me perplexed whether my translation is right or wrong after all... You are the English expert, it's your opinion that matters, so you tell what should be done. Please, feel free to even make those corrections with your own hand. OK? |
| | 6 Апрель 2008 18:02 |
| | Hi Via
What matters is the opinion of all of us, that's why we put our brains to work together at the poll or even before it is set.
I'll trust your instincts and validate it as it is. You are probably right, but you may agree that it was a more-than-one-meaning text.
We receive them all the time and demand form us a lot of work.
