Hi Chantal, "durum komedisi" means "situation comedy" or "sitcom".

Avrupa Yakasi is the series, telling a family, living in an elite society, which conditions being participated they are in. It is definitely a "Sitcom".At the same time the series contains characteristics of a critical comedy as well. The extreme characters and absurd conditions have been mirrored from society to the series.

coseb, you forgot 'attract attention', and I don't see much of a difference between mine and yours. the 'it is definitely' a sitcome is probably because of the 'dir', but I believe that does not necessarily have to be added..

Hi Chantal,

I think the translation needs a bit adjusting:
Firstly, "society" instead of "region" would be better. Also, It is not the people who are absurd. So it would be better to say "absurd conditions" as in coseb's version. In fact, these are the major diffrences between your and her translation. The rest of yours is fine

Aren't they synonms? But they have slight diffrences in some cases don't they? Then it may be more appropriate here.

But I think I have'nt been able to clarify the point about the last sentence.
Yes, It is the people who are eccentric but it is the circumstances which are absurd. So I suggest something like this for the last sentence:
"Eccentric people who are mirrored from society to the series and the absurd circumstances have attracted attention".

Also I have one more suggestion: This sentence is in passive voice in the original. So how about something like this:
"It has been drawn attention to the eccentric people who are mirrored from society to the series and to the absurd circumstances"
It's just a suggestion not a must. The choice is yours of course.

Ok thanks,
As for circumstances and conditions, yes they are synonyms, but not all synonyms cannot be used interchangeably . I'm not sure what exactly the difference is, probably just a nuance.
