Of course, the addressee knows the difference between this word said to wish "good luck" and the one that is agressively said, as first it isn't said using the same tone, then context into which it is said may be different too!
This five letters word is also called by those who don't want to pronounce it "le mot de Cambronne" (explanation is at about the middle of the page from this link above). But here it is only about this word said when one's upset.

Pitam te zbog onog mog prevoda koji je trenutno na ocenjivanju. Bojana ga je prepravila u "Kažem ti srećno...", a ja se razmišljam da li da stavi "Kažem ti 'slomij nogu'..." ili samo "Slomij nogu" ili možda samo "Srećno". | | | 12 May 2009 17:27 | | StaneNumber of messages: 176 | Pa nisam znao da je tvoja recenica, neko ju je drugi postavio za prevod... a sto se tice poena, kamen po kamen :-)
Francky je u pravu, izraz je ili samo "merde" ili "je te dis merde", svejedno, ali u svakom slucaju ima isti smisao "slomij nogu" ili ako hoces "srecno"... Mislim da od svih predloga za prevod je najbolji jednostavno "Srecno...". "Kazem ti srecno..." mi zvuci cudno i ne bas uobicajeno. Naravno, bolje bi bilo ubaciti u prevod "slomij nogu" ali kako ? "Kazem ti 'slomij nogu' " mi opet nekako neobicno, mada bolje nego samo "Slomij nogu...". Mozda bih ipak glasao za "Kazem ti 'slomij nogu'..." :-) Uf, da li sam od pomoci ?
