Title
I looked for you at quarter to doomsday,
Text
Submitted by lukisped
Source language: Engleski Translated by nisa

I looked for you at quarter to doomsday,
Neither smell, nor touch of you is anywhere except in my dreams,
Neither your name, nor your fame is in the places where I waited for you, looked for you
I longed for you at quarter to doomsday...

Title
Zvao sam u petnaest minuta do sudnjeg dana.
Translation
Srpski

Translated by pyana
Target language: Srpski

Zvao sam te u petnaest minuta do sudnjeg dana.
Ni tvog mirisa, ni dodira nema nigde osim u mojim snovima,
Ni tvog imena, ni tvoje slave nema na mestima gde sam te čekao, tražio
Žudeo sam za tobom u petnaest minuta do sudnjeg dana…
Remarks about the translation

Hey Kafetzou,

I have a little discussion here. Pyana translated text from the English version but fikomix's mother tounge is Turkish (and he also speaks Serbian pretty well).

Discussion is about:

aramak - look for or call (I thought it could also have the meaning to call someone?)

past tense in 3rd sentence or present?

and in last one "my heart long for you..."

Please help

Thanks!

Hmm - strange - I can't get to the Turkish version from this page, so I'll reprint it here:

Kıyamete çeyrek kala seni aradım
Ne kokun ne dokun var rüyalarımdan başka yerde
Ne adın ne sanın var seni beklediğim seni aradığım yerlerde
Kıyamete çeyrek kala seni çekti canımm...

You're right that "aradım" can mean "I looked for you" instead of "I called you". They're both possible here.

Third line should be past tense: "... in the places where I waited for and looked for you." I'm going to edit the English version - it seems weird that I validated it - it must've been in a weak moment.

"seni çekti canım" is an expression. Literally it means "my soul pulled you", but the meaning is "I longed for you".

I think the Turkish was the original, so you did the right thing.
