Title
Nous y sommes, Part2
Text
Submitted by Francky5591
Source language: Francuski

Nous avons construit la vie meilleure, nous avons jeté nos pesticides à l'eau, nos fumées dans l'air, nous avons conduit trois voitures, nous avons vidé les mines, nous avons mangé des fraises du bout du monde, nous avons voyagé en tous sens, nous avons éclairé les nuits, nous avons chaussé des tennis qui clignotent quand on marche, nous avons grossi, nous avons mouillé le désert, acidifié la pluie, créé des clones, franchement on peut dire qu'on s'est bien amusés.
Remarks about the translation
Ceci est la seconde partie du texte de Fred Vargas intitulé "Nous y sommes".

(Toujours en anglais britannique, merci ;)

We are there, part 2
Translation
Engleski

Translated by lenab
Target language: Engleski

We have created the better life, we have thrown our pesticides in the water, our smoke in the air, we have driven three cars, we have emptied the mines, we have eaten strawberries from the other side of the world, we have travelled in all directions, we have illuminated the nights, we have been wearing trainers that twinkle when we walk, we have grown fatter, we have wet the desert, made the rain acid, created clones, you can honestly say that we've really amused ourselves.

nous avons chaussé = we have worn , exact same tense form as the others sentences, avoir auxiliary verb in present tense + main verb in past tense.

Hi Itsatrap,
The present perfect continuos sounds better for the verb "wear". I think Lenab made a good choice.
Sometimes we have to change some words or verb tenses in order to get a more natural result in English. Not always "le passé composé" can be rendered as present perfect into other languages.
