Yes it is. E.g.,when somebody askes you if you speak german, and you do a little, you say 'ein wenig'.
But the second one I really think is an abbreviation or something else.

Maybe is it some of these potages made with what wwe French also call "kub" (this is kind of a trade) you know, chicken soup or beef soup with one of these cubes you put in hot water, and add then some noodles in it to let it be a little thicker?

"Kub" didn't say nothing to me. I only found at wikipedia this.

But who says "few Kub", if meant a building????
