Hmmm, maybe my English is failing me in this matter, but I would say that "oppressive" is someone who is cooercive, someone who represses, ο καταπιεστικός. And "compelling" has a positive meaning. A compelling argument is one that makes you want to agree. A compelling person makes you want to agree with him/her. That is that's what I think.
Είσαι Ï€Î¿Î»Ï Ï€Î¹ÎµÏƒÏ„Î¹ÎºÏŒÏ‚ doesn't necessary means that he opresses someone. He can just be too pushy. And if I may, we dont really know that he is "pressing the writers feelings and emotions". He may just be a major pain. Examples:
Είσαι Ï€Î¿Î»Ï Ï€Î¹ÎµÏƒÏ„Î¹ÎºÏŒÏ‚.
Είσαι Ï€Î¿Î»Ï Ï€Î¹ÎµÏƒÏ„Î¹ÎºÏŒÏ‚ ξÎÏεις.
Ο μπαμπάς μου είναι Ï€Î¿Î»Ï Ï€Î¹ÎµÏƒÏ„Î¹ÎºÏŒÏ‚.
Είσαι Ï€Î¿Î»Ï Ï€Î¹ÎµÏƒÏ„Î¹ÎºÏŒÏ‚.
That's why I like "overwhelming". It's vague you see.
