To whom it may concern,
We are a highly praised leather company in Turkey. I am the foreign trade manager of the company. The company has been in the business of processing leather for six years. Our dealings with a variety of leather companies have received high praise. Taking this into consideration, we would like to request distributorship for Turkey.
I thank you in advance in the name of the company. We are looking forward to receiving your answer. |

To make the text flow better, how about this?
The company has been embroidering leather for six years.
or
The company has been in the business of leather embroidering for six years.
Also a few remarks:
- Taking these into consideration -> taking the praises into consideration. This sounds a bit odd. Could we change this to 'Taking this (meaning, the aforementioned) into consideration'?
- we demand the Turkey distributorship -> Ouch! This sounds very rude in English. When you demand something, you bang your fist on the table, there may be shouting, you are probably trying to intimidate your audience. How about 'we request'? Or, even more polite, 'we would like to obtain'?
- As for the last sentence, a more commonly used formula is 'we are looking forward to (receiving) your answer'. Would that work?
Thanks! 17:39 | | | Hi Lein,
Good to see you back!
You can improve the text however you like. Thank you very much for the adjustments. 17:45 | | | Yes, I have not been around much lately - I'll try to come here more often once more! 23:33 | | | Handling leather???
The equivalent of the word "embroider" in Turkish is "iÅŸlemek" (...deri iÅŸleme iÅŸiyle...). I guess your suggetion is for the word "uÄŸraÅŸmak". 00:04 | | | "Ä°ÅŸlemek" deri üzerine "nakış vs " yapmaktır. Deriyi iÅŸlemek ,ham deriyi mamul deri haline getirmek için yapılan "tabaklama" anlamındadır.
"handling" means "to tan" here.
"embroidering" means to make "decoration" on leder. 00:09 | | | -Ki 'handle' bu anlamı karşılamaz.
I'm unfamiliar with the word 'handle' meaning 'iÅŸlemek'. Let's wait what Lein will say.
'embroidering' is something like decorating (usually with wool or thread); 'handling' is doing anything with it (if it 'goes through your hands', literally or figuratively, you handle it). If you mean tanning, how about we put tanning down?
Hope this helps... 20:29 | | | 'Tanning' would be the best choice.
Or how about 'processing'? 21:44 | | | Thinking about it over, I found it more suitable to say "processing".
Actually "iÅŸlemek" can also mean "embroider"
Have a look at this video (the title reads "deri işleme makinası", which translates as "leather embroidery machine":

I guess 'processing' might include an embroidery process. So in that case, It is better to say 'processing'
01:12 | | | 'processing' can be o.k for me. 12:44 | | | processing
Thanks! |
