The following pages are the result of a series of notes collected and set down in the form of a story and a system of practice, which accounts for the style of arrangement. The sequential order as originally received has been carefully adhered to that its value to the reader might not be lessened. |

| | "to that its value" yanlış başlıyor, doğrusu "so that its value" olmalıdır (smy) |

The following pages are 1) the result of a series of notes collected and set down in the form of a story and 2) a system of practice, which accounts for the style of arrangement.

The following pages are the result of a series of notes collected and set down in the form of 1) a story and 2) a system of practice, which accounts for the style of arrangement.
The other possibly confusing thing is the use of the word "that" in the second part to mean "so that". I think pommes_frites got that part right, but the very beginning is certainly incorrect: "the following pages" does not mean "ilerleyen sayfalar" - it means "bundan sonraki sayfalar". | | | 2008年 1月 1日 18:38 | | | It would be really helpful to know what this came from. | | | 2008年 1月 2日 08:48 | | | I've found a similar text to this one in here:

"The Following pages are the result of a series of notes collected and set down in the form of a story and a system of practice. The order as originally received has been carefully adhered to so that its value to the reader isn't diminished.

it doesn't have "which accounts for the style of arrangement" part but you're right about "so that",
so, that part may be: "Düzen, okuyucu açısından deÄŸerinin azalmaması için, orijinal olarak alındığı ÅŸekilde özenle korunmuÅŸtur" | | | 2008年 1月 2日 16:43 | | | If it is the same as the one you found, then my second interpretation is correct:
The following pages are the result of a series of notes collected and set down in the form of 1) a story and 2) a system of practice, which accounts for the style of arrangement.
Bundan sonraki sayfalar hem hikaye hem uygulama sistemi ÅŸeklinde yazılmış toplanmış bir not dizisinin sonucudur. | | | 2008年 1月 3日 09:15 | | | That part is ok now, I have found the "real" source that the request is taken from:

so I can accept it now, thank you very much | | | 2008年 1月 3日 18:34 | | | I don't think you've understood the first sentence correctly. I think it's as I translated it, and then it should be followed by "Onun için düzenleme ÅŸekli böyledir." | | | 2008年 1月 4日 14:17 | | | sorry for being a blockhead
I've edited as you say, but may that also be "düzenleme stilinden sorumlu olan bir uygulama sistemi"?
| | | 2008年 1月 4日 18:43 | | | You're not a blockhead. This is a really hard one to get any kind of head around!
No, your last suggestion is not possible. I think the problem (in your understanding of this) is the word "which", which does not refer to the noun directly before it (practice), but rather to the entire phrase that comes before it (The following pages are the result of a series of notes collected and set down in the form of a story and a system of practice). | | | 2008年 1月 4日 18:49 | | | edebi bir dil olduÄŸu için biraz zor bir çeviri zannedersem.... başıma bela aldım | | | 2008年 1月 5日 08:59 | | | I understand thanks a lot Kafetzou,
sinempin, actually it's not so hard but one should be careful when translating it |
