Dear Irene,

I have not written a letter to you for a long time, I am sorry. I hope your grandmother and your grandfather are well and you are fine too. I received your photo from Sisters - you look very beautiful. I am wondering if you are 15 or 16 years old now? I know you are born at 1992 but I do not know exact date. I keep your picture on my desk, along with my son photo.

I got lately your school results. The results are not very good - you are still in second class... When you complete 18 - it will be more difficult for me to help you, as "Heart Adoption" is for children only. This is why we should think about how I could help your future.

I was wondering if you maybe would like to learn sewing or something else. I could manage to buy a sewing machine for you. Please think about it and let me know your plans or your dreams...

I would like to visit you in Rwanda, but if this ever could be possible - it would be not earlier than next year (2009) or later. I started to learn Kinyarwanda language - I hope I can write letters myself soon (this one was translated by a friend).
