So, you can edit if the meaning is fine. |
| | 28 mei 2008 19:47 |
| | Done! |

| piasAantal berichten: 8114 | I think that your translation is right Lilian, (I trust you) but since my Spanish=0, we better ask the poll too. |
| | 28 mei 2008 21:18 |
| | Of course! |
| | 28 mei 2008 21:46 |
| | Is it only my impression, or you translated the sentence putting the verb in the infinitive, lilian? It seems to me the verb in the original text is in the past tense, and some accents are missing: "en chile estudié enfermerÃa a nivel superior". |
| | 28 mei 2008 21:49 |
| piasAantal berichten: 8114 | Hm ...maybe you shall write "Studerade vid..." if this is past tense. ? |
| | 28 mei 2008 22:07 |
| | I translated it into imperative, actually.
I was also in doubt about the exact meaning, that's what happens when a text in the request lacks diacritics. What made me decide about the tense was that in Spanish if it was past tense it should have probably been "he estudiado", but of course we can't count that the writer would use the correct tense.
I think we could write the alternative translation in the remarks. And, of course set it as "meaning only"
What do you think? |

| piasAantal berichten: 8114 | Sounds good to me. |

| | Isn't "nivel superior" a "university level" or something like that? |
| | 29 mei 2008 15:27 |
| piasAantal berichten: 8114 | Lilian,
I can see that your votes are positive but what about Caspers question ? |
| | 29 mei 2008 16:20 |
| | Yes, "a nivel superior" means at university level. |
| | 29 mei 2008 16:28 |
| piasAantal berichten: 8114 | Stupid question now ...but
Is it better then to write: "Studera till sjuksköterska på universitetsnivå i Chile."
Is that the meaning? |
| | 29 mei 2008 17:11 |
| | I'd rather leave it as is. I think using "high level" conveys the meaning better. |
| | 29 mei 2008 17:37 |
| piasAantal berichten: 8114 | That's ok! I feel a bit like I am hunting you Lilian, but since I don't understand Spanish as you know ..I have to ask all this questions.
|
| | 29 mei 2008 17:54 |
| piasAantal berichten: 8114 | Ooops, I saw something now, we are Not using "high level" in the text.
förstklassig = first-class
hög nivå = high level
But I agree with you to leave it as it is.

| | Remember my first translation?
It was:
"Studera hög stånd sjuksöterskeskola i Chile" |
| | 29 mei 2008 18:15 |
| piasAantal berichten: 8114 | Yes, but you can't write like that...
"Studera på hög nivå vid sjuksköterskeskola i Chile"
Better? |
| | 29 mei 2008 18:32 |
| piasAantal berichten: 8114 | Lilian,
is the meaning here that the school is a "first class school" or that the studies are at high level (like university) ?
I don't get it, sorry! |
| | 29 mei 2008 18:41 |
| | the studies are at high level |
| | 29 mei 2008 18:55 |
| piasAantal berichten: 8114 | Ok
So my suggest is that we start a new poll now, since the meaning is different after your edits.
I'll do that!
I wonder why so many people voted positive.. |
