So, you can edit if the meaning is fine. |
| | 28 gegužė 2008 19:47 |
| | Done! |
| | 28 gegužė 2008 19:52 |
| piasŽinučių kiekis: 8113 | I think that your translation is right Lilian, (I trust you) but since my Spanish=0, we better ask the poll too. |
| | 28 gegužė 2008 21:18 |
| | Of course! |
| | 28 gegužė 2008 21:46 |
| | Is it only my impression, or you translated the sentence putting the verb in the infinitive, lilian? It seems to me the verb in the original text is in the past tense, and some accents are missing: "en chile estudié enfermerÃa a nivel superior". |
| | 28 gegužė 2008 21:49 |
| piasŽinučių kiekis: 8113 | Hm ...maybe you shall write "Studerade vid..." if this is past tense. ? |
| | 28 gegužė 2008 22:07 |
| | I translated it into imperative, actually.
I was also in doubt about the exact meaning, that's what happens when a text in the request lacks diacritics. What made me decide about the tense was that in Spanish if it was past tense it should have probably been "he estudiado", but of course we can't count that the writer would use the correct tense.
I think we could write the alternative translation in the remarks. And, of course set it as "meaning only"
What do you think? |
| | 28 gegužė 2008 22:08 |
| piasŽinučių kiekis: 8113 | Sounds good to me. |
| | 29 gegužė 2008 05:42 |
| | Isn't "nivel superior" a "university level" or something like that? |
| | 29 gegužė 2008 15:27 |
| piasŽinučių kiekis: 8113 | Lilian,
I can see that your votes are positive but what about Caspers question ? |
| | 29 gegužė 2008 16:20 |
| | Yes, "a nivel superior" means at university level. |
| | 29 gegužė 2008 16:28 |
| piasŽinučių kiekis: 8113 | Stupid question now ...but
Is it better then to write: "Studera till sjuksköterska på universitetsnivå i Chile."
Is that the meaning? |
| | 29 gegužė 2008 17:11 |
| | I'd rather leave it as is. I think using "high level" conveys the meaning better. |
| | 29 gegužė 2008 17:37 |
| piasŽinučių kiekis: 8113 | That's ok! I feel a bit like I am hunting you Lilian, but since I don't understand Spanish as you know ..I have to ask all this questions.
|
| | 29 gegužė 2008 17:54 |
| piasŽinučių kiekis: 8113 | Ooops, I saw something now, we are Not using "high level" in the text.
förstklassig = first-class
hög nivå = high level
But I agree with you to leave it as it is.
|
| | 29 gegužė 2008 18:00 |
| | Remember my first translation?
It was:
"Studera hög stånd sjuksöterskeskola i Chile" |
| | 29 gegužė 2008 18:15 |
| piasŽinučių kiekis: 8113 | Yes, but you can't write like that...
"Studera på hög nivå vid sjuksköterskeskola i Chile"
Better? |
| | 29 gegužė 2008 18:32 |
| piasŽinučių kiekis: 8113 | Lilian,
is the meaning here that the school is a "first class school" or that the studies are at high level (like university) ?
I don't get it, sorry! |
| | 29 gegužė 2008 18:41 |
| | the studies are at high level |
| | 29 gegužė 2008 18:55 |
| piasŽinučių kiekis: 8113 | Ok
So my suggest is that we start a new poll now, since the meaning is different after your edits.
I'll do that!
I wonder why so many people voted positive.. |
